Pijama Piyama began in 2019 as an imaginary collective of desert degenerates known as "El Grupo Afrutado". After a short period as a solo act, Pijama Piyama transitioned into a full ensemble with members; Jonathan Saillant, Pablo Bastidas, Jeanine Salmeron, Mert Salahi, Brady Saillant, Ben Wise and sometimes Jessie Demaree. Inspired by Cumbias, Salsa, Frank Zappa and the world of psychedelica, their music aims to capture a playful amalgamation that spawns a synergy—a cheeky collision of tangible past and pixelated present.
